Carob Peanut Butter Cups for Dogs
Skill: Easy
Makes: 12 mini cups
Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients needed for Peanut Butter Cups for Dogs
Make sure the peanut butter is plain with no sugar added.
- 1/3 Cup Creamy Plain Peanut Butter (dog-safe kind)
- 1/2 Cup Carob Chips
- 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
How to Make Dog Peanut Butter Cups
Using a microwave-safe bowl you want to heat the coconut oil and carob chips. Be careful and only heat in 20-second intervals as it can burn fast.
Line the pan with mini cupcake liners. We just used a silicone mini cupcake pan on a cookie sheet, but you can use just a normal mini cupcake pan too.
Spoon the heated carob mix into the liners. You want to press some of the mixes with the back of the spoon so that it coats the sides as well as the bottom of the liner.
When you have all the liners coated, pop it in the freezer for a few minutes to firm the mix.
Note: To keep my carob mix from cooling fast when I am working, I like to set the dish in a hot cup of water.
Now in another microwave-safe dish, heat the peanut butter. You want it to be almost a liquid. This should be heated in 20-second intervals as well.
Spoon the heated peanut butter into the center of each of the coated cups. When done put the pan back in the freezer for a few minutes to harden again.
Reheat the carob mix if needed. Then coat the top of the peanut butter with heated carob mix. You want to make sure it is all sealed in.
Put the pan back in the freezer one more time for a few minutes to harden and then they are done!
