A tray with melon, watermelon, grapes, pupsicles, and a straw.

Homemade Pupsicle Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Plain Yogurt
  • 2-3 Stick Dog Treats (optional)
  • 1 Cup Fresh Diced Cantaloupe

How to Make Popsicles for Dogs

A glass bowl filled with sliced watermelon and pupsicles.

Add the cantaloupe and yogurt to the blender.

A blender filled with liquid for pupsicles and a spoon next to it.

Mix on high until the mixture is fully blended and smooth.

A blender with a cup of pupsicles cream in it.

Dump the mixture into molds. I just used little ice cube trays. Leave a little space at the top of each mold so it does not overflow when adding the stix.

Now, this next step you can do in a few different ways. You can cut pieces of the stick-style dog treats and place them in each mold to make a popsicle stick. If your treats are twisted like the ones in the picture, you can divide them so just one piece is in each mold.

Adding the sticks to the molds is an optional step. If you want to skip it you can.

Place the filled molds in the freezer. Allow it to freeze for at least 2 or more hours or until frozen solid.

Remove treats from mold and place them in a freezer-safe airtight container.

Could You Use A Different Fruit?

The short answer is, yes! If your dog is not crazy about cantaloupe, you could use another dog-safe fruit. Such as blueberries, apples, bananas, and so on.

These could also be made with vegetables like sweet potato or pumpkin.

Can Dogs Have Popsicles?

Yes, dogs can eat popsicles as long as the ingredients are safe for them. Popsicles help keep dogs hydrated during the summer.
